The Campus Community Garden is always looking for more volunteers! Volunteering is a great way to start learning how to grow food, meet other friendly folks involved with the garden.
We have volunteer opportunities every week at our work parties, where anyone (not just UVic students) can join us to work in the communal garden plots and help maintain the garden. This could look like working in the giving gardens where we grow food for students and the food bank, weeding, harvesting vegetables, pruning fruit bushes, building projects, maintaining the permaculture site or flower garden, or working with compost.

We welcome you to join us at a work party anytime!
Our work parties take place on Fridays from 3:00-5:00pm.

If you are interested in getting involved with the organizational aspects of the garden, consider attending a future board meeting or joining our board of directors. With our staff members, the board of directors lead various aspects of our volunteer teams including:

  • Site infrastructure
  • Tools
  • Compost
  • Giving Gardens (communal beds for the Food Bank)
  • Events and outreach
  • Finance and administration

You don’t have to be on the board of directors to work “behind the scenes” either – anyone is welcome to join our volunteer teams! Contact ccgassist@uvic.ca or ccgarden@uvic.ca if you're interested in taking part. Like our volunteer page on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/ccgvolunteers/ to receive more up to date information on weekly work party tasks!
