Silver Threads Service (STS) is a longstanding non-profit organization with a sterling reputation. Since we opened our doors in 1956, our services, programs and community partnerships have evolved to meet the changing needs of an ever-growing population of older seniors. Silver Threads Service currently operates two senior activity centres with support from the City of Victoria and the Municipality of Saanich.
We are currently at capacity and that the services provided are for Silver Threads members primarily.

We teach hands on and demonstration style communal cooking classes, and with us you’ll will learn to cook shoulder to shoulder with one of our seasoned instructors. We focus on simple cooking skills that we believe are the foundation of simple and approachable cooking. Our goal is for everyone that learns to cook with to use their skills everyday to enrich their lives through making their own food, for themselves and their family and friends.

More than farming... creating cultural change!
We farm for a living, growing 16,000 pounds of vegetables and fruit by hand on just one acre of our 15 acre farm on Swayne Road in Errington, BC. Each Saturday, our “store front” is open at the Errington Farmers’ Market, May through to the end of September - we hope to see you there, supporting local food, local jobs and farming!

Silver Cloud Farm is a small scale farm that follows the principals of organic farming, and focuses on producing a wide array of vegetables, berries and fruit.

Organic Farm in Sooke, BC

Northstar Organics grows certified organic and transitional-to-organic fruit and vegetables on our 10 acre farm in Central Saanich.

We believe in collaboration. Our strength has been bringing together people from varied professions – architecture, engineering, farming, local government, property development, and the restaurant industry – who are as passionate as we are about creating something new.

ALM Organic Farm is a 15 acre organic farm located in Sooke on Vancouver Island in British Columbia.
