Sooke Region Food CHI (Sooke Region Food Community Health Initiative Society) is a strong voice for local food.

Established in 2009, Sooke Region Food CHI is best known for the popular Sunriver Community and Allotment Garden, the annual successful Sooke Seedy Saturday (February), and the Sooke Apple festival (September).

We promote and advocate for improved community health by encouraging all aspects of sustainable food systems for our area. We host the Sooke Seedy Saturday and Sooke Apple Festival events where people can learn, network and and have fun exploring food sources.  Our allotment garden includes a Grow a Row program to assist in fresh food for our Food Bank and other helping agencies.

Our region, which includes the Sooke District, Otter Point, East Sooke, Shirley and Port Renfrew areas, is rooted in viable local production, historical and First Nations’ knowledge and environmental stewardship.

We invite you to explore the work we do and make use of the resources found on our website. See you at our events!
