Our garden provides a safe and nurturing place where families and individuals who don’t have access to garden space can grow food for themselves, their family and/or their community.
Eat West Coast is everything food on the west coast of Vancouver Island. We want a region where food is celebrated, abundant, and integral to the culture, health, economy, and community well-being for all residents. Eat West Coast is a strategy of the Clayoquot Biosphere Trust. We are hub for food security and healthy communities programs and activity throughout the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Reserve region. We are supported in part by Island Health’s Community Food Action Initiative. Our communities include Macoah, Hitacu, Ucluelet, Esowista/Ty-Histanis, Tofino, Opitsaht, Ahousaht and Hot Springs Cove.

The Cowichan Incubator Seed Farm is the first seed training farm to be launched in Canada. Based on the successful ‘Incubator Farm’ model that has been implemented in numerous places to train new farmers, the Cowichan Incubator Seed Farm (CISF) will be the first to focus specifically on training new seed farmers.
This project aims to establish a food recovery system to reclaim unwanted and destined for the landfill food and into a variety of other more sustainable streams including re-distribution, processing, compost and animal feed.
Recover - Share - Nourish
As part of our mission to increase access to healthy food, we have established an edible nursery where we grow and sell a variety of annual and perennial vegetables, herbs and fruits for the backyard and community gardener. We believe strongly that providing hardy, vigorous plants to Victoria’s thriving gardening community is an important piece in the local food security puzzle.
