Nanaimo Foodshare is where 'local food matters"! We are a local charitable non-profit that promotes food security in the region. We do this by increasing local food access, by providing skill building programs, working with volunteers and community organizations to build community capacity to support a local sustainable food system.

Summer Lunch Munch/School Meals

Nanaimo Foodshare
Summer Lunch Munch/School Meals feeds children in inner city parks during the summer season, when school is out and kids have less access to foods through their usual school programs and works with schools to address hunger in the classroom during the school year.

Cultivating Abilities

Cultivating Abilities is a work-readiness project that provides adults with disabilities job-placement opportunities in the community in the food and agricultural sectors.
