Based out of Campbell River, BC, our mission is to restore, sustain and protect natural areas and critical habitats, particularly ecological and recreational greenways, for the benefit of our community.

One of the biggest ways in which people connect with the environment is through food. However, many of our current systems leave people without secure access to food that is healthy, affordable, and produced in a way that respects our environment.

Greenways is currently working in collaboration with other local organizations to increase food security for residents of the Strathcona Regional District through the Strathcona Food Network.  We are proud to be the Island Health Food Security Hub for the Strathcona Regional District.

Community consultation has shown that access to local wild seafood is difficult in many of the remote communities in the Strathcona Regional District, despite our abundance of wild seafood resources. Greenways is carrying out research to determine why this is the case and what we can do to support more wild seafood being available to local residents.
Greenways Land Trust works to encourage the development of community gardens within Campbell River and can provide some administrative support in running the gardens.
The Strathcona Food Network is a group of like-minded individuals and organizations that are working to encourage food security in the Strathcona Regional District. We meet monthly to discuss our projects and support each other's work.
