Thursday nights from 5-6pm, staff and volunteers serve a home cooked meal to families in the community. There is a suggested donation of $2 per family but no-one is turned away for lack of funds. Guests are asked to help with clean up by clearing their dishes, putting away chairs, etc.
There is often fresh produce available for families to take home as part of the Food Rescue program.
The Thursday community dinner is a place for neighbourhood families to come together, get a break from cooking, and connect with each other and staff at the Community Centre. After the dinner, the Family Centre and Youth Centre are open, providing an opportunity for parents to relax with a coffee and for kids, teens and families to play together.
