The Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program (CPNP) is a community based program that supports women through their pregnancy and the first year of their baby’s life. The program provides resources and support in areas such as nutrition, health issues, breastfeeding and infant development.
The Healthy Families Program is an accredited B.C. Family Resource Program which supports pregnant women, parents and caregivers to provide children (birth up to 6th year) with a strong foundation in life.
We offer a wide range of cooking programs and food skill classes for community members of all ages, experiences and backgrounds.
Most programs are free, and when they are not we offer bursaries, so everyone can enjoy them.
Eat West Coast is everything food on the west coast of Vancouver Island. We want a region where food is celebrated, abundant, and integral to the culture, health, economy, and community well-being for all residents. Eat West Coast is a strategy of the Clayoquot Biosphere Trust. We are hub for food security and healthy communities programs and activity throughout the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Reserve region. We are supported in part by Island Health’s Community Food Action Initiative. Our communities include Macoah, Hitacu, Ucluelet, Esowista/Ty-Histanis, Tofino, Opitsaht, Ahousaht and Hot Springs Cove.

FoodFit, a program developed by Community Food Centres Canada, is now being offered through Cowichan Green Community Foundation to bring low-income community members together to set goals, learn skills, and make measurable changes in overall health and fitness. The goal of the FoodFit program is to support community members to become better nourished, more active, and less socially isolated.
“Food is the Medium, Community is the Message” is our catchy vision statement. One of the goals of the Galiano Community Food Program from its inception has been to build community. And the way we do that is through the sharing of food with neighbours and community members.
Community Meal Prep wants to help all ages and stages get cooking. We offer several types of opportunities to learn kitchen skills, build community, and fill your freezer with healthy, homemade, DELICIOUS meals. We have adult nights, adult parties, kids classes, as well as ready-made meals to purchase. We want to make feeding your family, easy, economical and fun!
