Food Hampers: Pregnant women and families with children 0-6 years can pick up a monthly household hamper of food at the Healthy Families Program office on McPhee Avenue, between 10:00-12:00 on Wednesdays, BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. This hamper is generously provided in partnership with the Comox Valley Food Bank and replaces the Thursday household hamper day at the food bank. "Little Cubs" parent-child playgroup (Lions Valley View Estates): Drop-in and enjoy early learning activities with your child, socialize with other parents and find out about resources in our community. A free program for families who are parenting chidren between birth and five years of age. Financial support provided by the Comox Valley Monarch Lions Club.

"Waiting for the Bus" parent-child playgroup (Glacier View Secondary): a Family Literacy Outreach program for parents with children between birth and five years of age, living in the West Courtenay area. Sessions involve preparation and eating of a healthy lunch. This is followed by small group learning circles for parents while the children participate in early learning activities with qualified Early Childhood Educators. The group wraps up with parent and child activities, including circle time.
