FoodFit, a program developed by Community Food Centres Canada, is now being offered through Cowichan Green Community Foundation to bring low-income community members together to set goals, learn skills, and make measurable changes in overall health and fitness. The goal of the FoodFit program is to support community members to become better nourished, more active, and less socially isolated.

The Capital City Allotment Association is a non profit organization managing the community gardens located at 641 Kent Road in Saanich BC. Our members are local citizens who enjoy gardening and growing fresh vegetables.
The Association's purpose is "To provide recreational gardening and facilities to members for a reasonable annual fee on a non-profit basis under the auspices and direction of the Municipality of Saanich."
Banfield Commons is a permaculture food forest in Banfield Park, located between the tennis courts and the parking lot. This under-utilized piece of parkland was transformed in 2006 to a garden filled with fruit trees/shrubs, perennial and self-sowing annual food plants, and medicinal and culinary herbs. The garden is open to the public for harvest.
This introduction to beekeeping offers participants theory and practical field experience.
BGCA operates an allotment garden in Cecelia Ravine Park. Plots are rented out annually to local residents. A wait-list is currently being taken.
