Enjoy cooking in a group and taking delicious affordable meals home to your family. Community Kitchens run Wednesday and Friday with a different focus for each kitchen. There is a cost per person to help cover the cost of ingredients. Childminding is provided for $2/child. Registration is required.

The Capital City Allotment Association is a non profit organization managing the community gardens located at 641 Kent Road in Saanich BC. Our members are local citizens who enjoy gardening and growing fresh vegetables.
The Association's purpose is "To provide recreational gardening and facilities to members for a reasonable annual fee on a non-profit basis under the auspices and direction of the Municipality of Saanich."

Banfield Commons is a permaculture food forest in Banfield Park, located between the tennis courts and the parking lot. This under-utilized piece of parkland was transformed in 2006 to a garden filled with fruit trees/shrubs, perennial and self-sowing annual food plants, and medicinal and culinary herbs. The garden is open to the public for harvest.
Vic west food security collective maintains one community orchard – Evans Orchard – and two more at design stage – Hereward Park Community Orchard and Banfield Park Community Orchard. If you would like to help grow any of these gardens please contact vicwestgarden@yahoo.ca
